Travel, travel and more travel...

This past month has been filled with lots of travel and great experiences. We started out in Cincinnati, OH visiting the college and seminary. From there we went to Lincoln, IL where we met up with two of our commissioners, Dr. Wayne Shaw and Dr. Paul Boatman. We were able to set up our display at several locations on campus. It just so happened, that we were visiting while they were putting on a seminar for 'The Encore Generation'. It was time well spent learning about the aging population in our churches and our communities. We learned how to continue to utilize their spiritual gifts. From Illinois we traveled to visit the Twin Lakes Christian Church in Branson, MO. While there, we took the opportunity to have dinner with Scott and Leann West whose son lost both legs in Iraq. We became friends while their son recuperated at Walter Reed Medical Center.

Our next stop was Kansas.  We visited University Christian Church, Crestview Christian Church to hear chaplain Chris Ball preach, Fort Riley where Chris serves and Manhattan Christian College.  At MCC we were able to set up the display in several locations and see two of our chaplains.  Greg Delort, after his duties at MCC serves as a Hospital Chaplain. One of our newest additions, Rick Wright, will dual hat as a Professor at MCC and serve as a Hospital Chaplain in his spare time.

Dr. Clay Perkins, President of Mid Atlantic Christian University with John Maurice, retired Navy Chaplain currently serving as Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Dr. Greg Delort, Vice President for Academics & Professor of Family Ministry at Manhattan Christian College and Dr. Rick Wright, Vice President of Student Life.
Both endorsed as Hospital Chaplains.

Next we enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Fayetteville Christan Church's Mission Fair in North Carolina. Tom Cooperider, minister, hosted an evening of Italian food and an opportunity to share about our mission.  Fayetteville has been a supporting church for quite some time.  We are extremely grateful for their support.

Mid Atlantic Christian University fondly referred to as MAC-U was our last stop.  John Maurice and I attended Cincinnati Christian Seminary together and served together in the Navy for over 20 years.  We have enjoyed the Maurice's Hospitality numerous times.  I had opportunity to speak in class, speak in chapel and set up the display in the MAC-U Missions Lobby.  President Clay Perkins and Vice President Maurice were very gracious and showed us what southern hospitality feels like.
Above is Chaplain Chris Ball and wife Amy serving at Fort Riley, KS. They are preparing  for their upcoming move to North Carolina.
Several application packages, transcripts, changes to DOD Form 2088, Ecclesiastical Endorsement Letters and numerous other correspondence awaited us upon our return home. It was a great run.
