Rowdy winemakers and gin tonics!

As we dive into our newest production, Cuina Catalana, we have to go bigger and louder. Everything at Juliet this season embodies this from a bread course that opens itself up into a spread of unexpected tapas, to our brightest set decorations yet, and even our wine list is full of rowdy Catalonian winemakers.

Laltre, from any angle

About 10 miles north of Barcelona, the winemakers at Lagravera took over a large industrial site. What was once a pit of gravel, has transformed into a winery with organic and biodynamic growing standards across 14 different plots of lands.

Their wine Laltre is a blend of Monastrell, the Spanish expression of Mourvedre, and Granatxa. Our service manager, Ariel described this wine as "cherry pop rocks". It's lively, light, and an easy drinking summer red.
Laltre serves as the pairing for our Whole Roasted Branzino on Cuina Catalana. A red wine paired with fish might feel counterintuitive, but this wine is light enough to not overpower the meal.

These winemakers want to do things differently as they blend modern and ancestral methods together. They're rambunctious and wild with wine labels that are meant to be read upside-down too.

Gin tonics! (Said like it's one word)

A Barcelona cocktail list has to include Gin tonics. It's the drink of the city, and in many ways the best way to cool off in the warmer summer months.

We have two versions on our menu. One is light and fruit and the other is a bit woodsy. Bring a friend and try one of each, or start your meal with one and finish with the other. Both have a special tonic that's made in Georgia and based off of an old sailor medicine recipe. The tonic is different than what you may be used to. It gives our gin tonics a unique color and fills the glass with a tartness and herbaciousness that most other tonics don't have.

I hope you've enjoyed
