Forums

  • Candidate forums are now underway throughout the city. If you missed one, you can watch the archived video online.
  • Due to the large number of challengers, the first mayoral forum was instead an introduction session, in which each candidate had four minutes to address the crowd. Elise Stolte recapped the session here. CBC caught some hot mic comments before the session started.
  • From Paige Parsons, here's a recap of the Ward 1 forum that took place on Monday night. "Infill and the west LRT line were popular talking points, and strong feelings about bike lanes emerged when a question about growing cycling ridership in the city was posed."
  • Emma Graney covered Monday night's Ward 2 forum, which had about 50 people in attendance. "Although polite, candidates often seemed at odds with one another during the forum, particularly when it came to the separated bike lanes downtown."

The first mayoral forum took place on Sept. 26 at the Shaw Conference Centre.
