The Walter & Leah Rand Awards and Scholarship Dinner is an evening of celebration and support for the South Jersey community. Entering its 18th year, this annual event supports the mission of WRI and provide students with unique opportunities to serve the residents of southern New Jersey. Learn more about WRI.

Senator Nilsa Cruz-Pérez

Senator Cruz-Pérez was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1995 and served until 2010. Appointed to fill an unexpired term, she went on to be elected as the first Hispanic woman State Legislator in New Jersey’s history. In 2014, Ms. Cruz-Pérez was sworn in as State Senator for New Jersey’s Fifth Legislative District. Currenlty, she is vice chair to the Senate Economic Growth Committee; sits on the Senate Budget and Appropriations, and Military and Veterans Affairs Committees; and is a member of the Joint Committee on Affordable Housing.

Following their daughter Alicia’s passing in 2002, Mario and Gisele DiNatale founded the Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation (ARVF) to honor her legacy and support the health and well-being of children battling cancer or other life-threatening illnesses. Since then, ARVF has raised more than $2.5 million for its Victorious 4 Teens programs including: 66 Teen Lounges, 30 Alicia’s Art Carts, and 22,500 Teen Kits and Bandana Pillows shipped to children across the country.

Spanning four generations, the Ravitz family has served local communities with five ShopRite Supermarkets in South Jersey and a Price Rite in Camden.
