News to Know from Visit Estes Park

From the CEO

Now is the time for us to work together to get the word out everywhere that Estes Park is ready and inviting of visitors to return and enjoy the great outdoors!  If you have social media or email lists then please help us get the word out and invite your customers to return!  We are launching a new summer campaign with added dollars to ensure we do our part to let people know that Estes Park is open and we are inviting visitors to return right away!

Visit Estes Park is also working with a number of destinations and state tourism associations in a push to increase the allowable size for group events like weddings and family reunions.  We are also working to increase capacities for pools and trying to get rules and guidelines reduced.  Stay tuned for updates.

The Governor himself has stated that out of state visitors pose no increased risk to Colorado residents as we have taken so many safety and health precautions to reduce spread of infections.  Airlines with routes to Denver are increasing the number of flights and indeed, the death rate has been averaging a few deaths a day statewide and infection rates are beginning to bottom out. Things continue to improve!

Thank you for supporting our industry, we are here for you and we are working hard to attract visitors so everyone can resume normal business as soon as possible.   If you need any additional masks for guests, we will have them available in a week or two for you and your employees, or for purchase for guests at cost.  We have already distributed about 2,000 masks to our local businesses for their employees. Together we will remain strong and we will continue to work together with you to ensure we all return to regular summer business as quickly as possible.

Join us: International Travel Trade Explained

The Colorado Tourism Office, in partnership with Rocky Mountain Holiday Tours and Visit Estes Park, is hosting a Zoom call to go over the basics of international travel trade, explaining everything from what a receptive tour operator is to the benefits of working with them, specific to the questions and concerns of Estes Park businesses.

The seasonality of and occupancy levels experienced during our high season have always been a reason why Estes Park businesses have chosen not to work with receptive tour operators. However, international travelers are high-value guests: they stay longer, spend more, and stay midweek.

Join us to learn how you can leverage the international traveler to maximize occupancy at your property or fill out your attraction schedule.
