Only a little more than two months until the Centauride begins, and Apollo and I have been busy, busy, busy. More trail time, more planning time, more gear shopping time, more everything!
Our most recent training project has been teaching Apollo how to 'ground picket', so he can be safely secured for the night when no fenced pastures or stalls are available. So far, he's not too keen on having a rope tied to his back leg, and he just doesn't know what to make of it. But he's slowly starting to get used to it, and I'm sure he'll get the hang of it well before the November newsletter!
This month we'll be at the grand opening festivities of the new branch of Squeeze In in Penn Valley. If you want to meet Apollo or ask me all your long ride questions, be sure to drop by on October 25! More details for location and time will be posted on my Facebook page, so check there in the next week as we finalize the schedule.
Even more importantly, October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Get the facts and show your support for the cause!
Until next month,
Meredith and Apollo
