Join Adventists from Across Mid-America Virtually for 10 Days of Prayer

Please join Adventists from across Mid-America from January 6-16 for a virtual “10 Days of Prayer” event. Each evening at 7:00 pm CST (4:00 pm CST on the two Sabbaths during the event), local participants from the six conferences within the Mid-America Union will lead us in a time of prayer, music and inspiration.

'Rise Up' Prayer Focus: Praying for Schools

Our "Rise Up" prayer focus for January is conference and public schools. From January 10-16, we ask every member, church and school to pray for students, teachers and other staff of our conference elementary schools and Sunnydale Academy, as well as those in public schools throughout Iowa and Missouri. Adventist Teen from Springfield Beats Cancer

Isai Martinez, a 17-year-old Adventist from Springfield (and son of Edgar Martinez, pastor of Spanish-speaking congregations in Carthage, Monett and South West City), recently became the first person to ring a new outdoor bell outside of a local pediatric center in celebration of his victory over cancer. Council Bluffs Church Delivers Christmas Gift Bags to Frontline Healthcare Workers

On December 22, the Council Bluffs church showed their appreciation for area frontline healthcare workers by distributing 60 gift bags filled with snacks and treats, tissues, a reusable water bottle, lip balm, hand lotion, and several other items. Included in each bag were also Christmas greetings, a thank-you card, inspirational Bible verses, and a sharing book.

From AdventHealth Staff: With a COVID-19 vaccine beginning to become available, many are deciding if and when they will be interested in taking it themselves. As the world watched an extraordinarily rapid development process paired with political dialogue on the topic, some Americans and others have drawn their own conclusions that contribute to hesitancy or even rejection of the vaccine. However, experts in vaccine safety who have studied the new COVID-19 vaccines find that they are safe and effective, meaning we may finally have a crucial tool to mitigate this pandemic — unless people don’t use it.
