Join master stargazer (and Kent Denver High School physics teacher), Evan Gaffney, as he shares his telescopes and knowledge of the cosmos with the local community.
Bring your blankets or lightweight lawn chairs, water bottles, and jackets to enjoy a crisp fall evening under the stars. We'll bring the desserts!
Most important: Bring your flashlights or - even better - a headlamp with a red light setting.
Science Fun Fact - Why use a red light headlamp or light?
It takes about 20 minutes for human eyes to adapt fully to night vision and less than a second for white light to reset your eyes back to daylight vision! The red light setting does not ruin your nighttime vision so you can still see where you are walking AND see well in the dark.
PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE COMING
Space is limited to 30 attendees so please sign up by clicking the above RSVP NOW button.
A few notes:
If you can, please walk or bike to the farm – there is access off the High Line Canal south of Quincy Ave.
Cars will be allowed into the farm to drop off attendees but only visitors with disability placards will be able to park at the farm.
More parking is available at Kent Denver School’s dining hall parking lot - 0.2 miles away from the farm at 4000 E. Quincy Ave. - there will be camping lanterns lighting the way to the farm!
Please, no alcohol as it is not permitted at Quincy Farm
We will send an email Friday to attendees with more information about parking and if there are any changes to the weather. Currently, all is looking clear - albeit a little chilly - in the forecast!
**Please note that the event is 8 - 10 pm! Previous emails and the event site listed it as 9 - 11 pm but we moved it up an hour.**
