We at Cherry Hills Land Preserve hope you are managing in this time of uncertainty. We find ourselves looking for the silver linings of our situation and take solace in the gift of time to enjoy the trails, parks, and open spaces in our community. For many of us, it's a slower time which allows us to reconnect with nature and neighbors - from 6 feet apart, of course - and remind ourselves what makes Colorado and the Village a special place.
This month’s newsletter highlights ways to engage with nature close to home with cool links, resources, and activity ideas. Please note the City’s reminders on social distancing so we can continue to #flattenthecurve, and don't forget to reach out to support each other and take mental breaks by exploring nature close to home.
Together, we can beat this thing and return to a sense of normalcy.
Stay well and wash your hands,
Cherry Hills Land Preserve

Whether in your backyard or along the trails, share your findings with us on Instagram (or send them directly to us at comm@cherryhillslandpreserve.org). Share your discoveries of the creatures in the creek, the blooming flowers, sunsets (or sunrises for the early birds!), your horses...if it's nature in CHV, we want to see! Watch a Documentary on Sculptor Andy Goldsworthy
"Andy Goldsworthy's art is supposed to fall apart. He creates large-scale outdoor sculptures and artworks out of natural materials like mud, wood, ice and stone in an attempt to imbue the physical world with a spiritual, ephemeral element..." This documentary is currently available to rent from Amazon Prime - and if you want a brief intro to Andy Goldsworthy, check out this short segment from PBS.

Notices From The City Of CHV
|
|
|
Trails are open!
However, please:
- Do not use them if you are symptomatic;
- Follow the CDC's hygiene guidelines;
- Be prepared for a lack of bathrooms and water fountains;
- Share the trail;
- Follow social distancing - 6 feet apart!
Also, in light of certain shortages, the City has issued a PSA on items that should NOT be flushed down a toilet. Examples of such items include: paper towels, napkins, disinfection wipes or feminine hygiene products.
And finally, be aware of an increase in scams, especially around coronavirus and the federal stimulus package. At this time, there are no take home test kits (free or otherwise) nor are there vaccines, and the IRS will never call you for information. For more information from the CHV Police Department, click below.
