This issue has a focus on a range of issues some stemming from recent Safetynet reporting.

During the months of June, July and August there was 19 Safetynet incident and hazard reports cantered around workplace ergonomics.

Electrical Incidents

During the months of June, July and August there were 6 hazard reports involving electrical equipment. An injury or incident involving electricity in the University must be reported to the WHS Unit immediately or as soon as possible after the event.  

Slips, Trips and Falls

During the months June, July and August there were 8 workplace slips, trips or falls some resulting in injury. The University of Wollongong is committed to the prevention of injury and illness to its workers by providing a safe and healthy work environment for staff, students and visitors.

Safe Use of Mobile Phones

All staff should be aware of the UOW Safe Use Of Mobile Phones Guideline. This document aims to address the risk to health safety that can occur as a result of using mobile phones when at work.
