  Blue to Green

BWIS is beginning a regular project to support mental wellbeing, alongside Oak Tree Farm (a community assisted food-producing project). The new collaboration will deliver the known benefits of eco-therapy to anyone wanting to boost their wellbeing, perhaps because of the effects of Covid-isolation and anxiety, possibly aggravated by SAD (seasonal affective disorder).
BWIS is about the mental health and wellbeing of people in Suffolk and beyond. It is based on prosocial group design, which supports self-managing groups to collaborate together on just such projects.

We have East Suffolk Council funding for up to 15 participants on a free 8-week course called Blue to Green. They will learn about organic food growing and better mental health, all in the safe outdoors and in the company of a welcoming community of fellow land-workers.

There’s a free taster event in January. If you’d like to be part of this enjoyable and worthwhile project book here. And please pass this on to anyone you know who would benefit.

And wherever you are - what new projects are YOU contemplating?
This month’s Life Lounge from BWIS is Creating the Year you Want. You are very welcome to join us to get your 2021 off to a great start.

And if you’ve ever wanted to learn coaching skills, come and find out more about our Spring training on Mon 25 Jan (see below).

And Finally ...

What can be said in New Year rhymes,
That’s not been said a thousand times?
The new years come, the old years go,
We know we dream, we dream we know.
We rise up laughing with the light,
We lie down weeping with the night.
We hug the world until it stings,
We curse it then and sigh for wings.
We live, we love, we woo, we wed,
We wreathe our prides, we sheet our dead.
We laugh, we weep, we hope, we fear,
And that’s the burden of a year.
The Year by Ella Wheeler Wilcox
