Event Poster - Invitation to Information Event on 3rd March in ARD Family Resource Centre
Nature for Health
10-Week Free Programme

Information Event: 3rd March
Programme Start Date: 24th March

Nature for Health Programme will involve guided weekly social walks in a woodland setting with elements of art, mindfulness and nature. This free 10-week programme will begin in Merlin Woods, Doughiska, on Tuesday 24th March.


You are invited to join the information event that will be held in ARD Family Resource Centre on Tuesday, 3rd March, from 10am to 12pm.

Ageing Well in Galway
Community Support & Advocacy

Free 8-Week Programme
Commencing on 3rd March

Ageing Well in Galway: Community Support & Advocacy is a free 8-week programme from COPE Galway aimed at supporting positive and healthy ageing.


When: 8 weekly sessions starting Tuesday, March 3rd, 2pm - 4pm
Where: Westside Resource Centre, Seamus Quirke Road, Galway


Ageing Well in Galway: Community Support & Advocacy is a chance to:

  • explore how you can help the older people that you meet to get the supports they need for healthy ageing;
  • meet workers and volunteers from local networks and organisations that support the voice of older people in Galway;
  • obtain a COPE Galway Certificate of Attendance for 75% attendance.

Renewing Your Social Enterprise

A Free Training Programme for Established Social Enterprises

This free programme is designed to help your established social enterprise renew your mission and re-focus your business strategy while creating an opportunity to share your insights and experience with other social enterprises in your region.

Volunteer Management Training

Planning for Volunteer Involvement
4 Modules from March to May

 
If you work with volunteers, planning to involve volunteers and/or review your management practice and policies, there are some training opportunities for you to be held in Croí, The West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation in between March and May 2020.
Module 1: Planning for Volunteer Involvement
Module 2: Volunteer Engagement

Module 3: Day to Day Management of Volunteers
Module 4: Dealing with Challenging Situations and Policy Development

Participants are encouraged to attend all four modules however you can register for any of the modules that meet your current needs.

Places are limited to 20 participants on each module to ensure participation.

6-Week Healthy Food Made Easy Programme
Start Date: 4th March

Healthy Food Made Easy Programme is being organised by Westside Resource Centre in conjunction with Healthy Galway City.
When: Start Date- Wednesday 4th March, 6.30pm-9.00pm
Where: Westside Resource Centre, Seamus Quirke Rd., Galway

This programme is FREE and will run for 6 weeks.

Topics Include:
  • Practical cooking experience;
  • Food for Life;
  • Focus on fats;
  • Shop smart (budget and Label Reading);
  • Fibre providers;
  • Building a food pyramid;
  • The road ahead.

Nominations Invited

Cut-off date: Friday, 6th March

Nominations are invited from people in Galway City for individuals or organisations for the Mayor’s Awards that will take place on Tuesday, 21st April 2020 in the Galmont Hotel, Galway. 


The closing date for nominations is Friday, 6th March 2020.

Intercultural EPIC Awards 2020
