A Collaborative Task Group for a Fair and Equal Local Election
A range of local organisations are working collaboratively to ensure a fair and equal local election.

By adopting the three values underpinning the manifesto developed at a national level by the Community Platform - community, decency, participation - the #EqualityVotesGalway Taskgroup will develop a manifesto calling on all local candidates to ensure equality is at the heart of their representation.

Raise the Roof in Galway

Trade unions, political parties, women’s groups, student unions, housing agencies and community groups are coming together for a rally in Galway against our housing crisis.

Raise the Roof is planning a rally in Eyre Square on Monday, April 8 with speakers from a range of civil societies to demand radical action to tackle our housing crisis.

Epilepsy Nurse Talk

Epilepsy Ireland will host an Epilepsy Nurse talk on Tuesday, 9th April, 11am – 1pm approx. at the Maldron Hotel, Oranmore, Co. Galway.

The talk is on Women & Epilepsy and is open to Women with Epilepsy & Professionals who work with them.

Sinead Murphy, Community Epilepsy Specialist Nurse, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin will facilitate this session and will explore the key topics of Epilepsy Medications, Contraception, Pre Pregnancy Care, Pregnancy & Epilepsy, Epilepsy in later life. Time will also be given to questions that participants have on the day.

Community Group Training 
Galway City Partnership and Galway Roscommon Education Training Board are running a number of workshops in Ballybane, Westside and Ballinfoile in March and April on the following themes:
  • Bookeeping - date in late April to be confirmed, Ballinfoile Resource Centre
  • Social Media -  date in May to be confirmed,  Westside Resource Centre
