UCCA wishes you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and *especially* Healthy New Year

2020 was an unprecedented year not only for UCCA, but for our entire global hromada, with the Coronavirus pandemic altering planned activities and observances worldwide. Mandatory stay-at-home orders followed by social distancing guidelines forced all of us, out of an abundance of caution, to operate much differently than we were accustomed to, and adjust to new circumstances.

Please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation this holiday season; your support will help usher our community into a new decade of US- Ukraine relations.

UCCA remains a community organization, whether speaking with your elected leaders or advocating in the media, supported by financial support from you. While much of the world stopped altogether, UCCA could not waver in our mission of representing the Ukrainian American community with utmost vigor and championing the cause of freedom and democracy for our ancestral homeland Ukraine.

2020 was also an important election year in both the United States and Ukraine. In the U.S., UCCA and its Washington, DC office - the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS), encouraged voter participation to underscore to elected officials the importance of continued bipartisan support for Ukraine. It also engaged both presidential candidates to provide their campaign’s view of US-Ukraine relations. In Ukraine, to enhance the transparency of the election process, even during these uncertain times of Covid-19, UCCA was able to host a small but effective Election Observation Mission to monitor the October 25th local elections.

As UCCA continues to face these unprecedented times head on, we hope we can continue counting on your support. By making a fully tax-deductible donation today, your financial contribution will positively impact our community for years to come.

If we have learned anything from this pandemic, it is that technology and the internet is essential to our community’s everyday life. Throughout this unprecedented year, UCCA organized various virtual commemorations from the 30th Anniversary of the Revolution on Granite, the 29th Anniversary of Ukraine’s renewed Independence, and even UCCA’s historic 80th Anniversary Celebration. From the start, UCCA shared reliably sourced Coronavirus health notifications and up-to-date community postponements and cancellations. And in an effort bring attention to issues important to the Ukrainian American community, UCCA continued to co-host and live-stream numerous conferences; disseminate statements, press releases and monthly bulletins; and, publish its scholarly journal The Ukrainian Quarterly.
