Flourishing February

Happy Wednesday Everyone! January was already an exciting month for THRIVE Communities. We are celebrating the launch of a new CoSA circle this month.Join! We also finished the 2020 training schedule and have a friend raiser coming up. We offer a warm welcome home to our newest returning citizen's. One of our fellows recently shared his story at a local temple.

THRIVE 2020 Training Schedule

THRIVE’s Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA) training is an experiential exploration of the meaning, guidelines and impact of Restorative Circles in reentry. 

The Experiential Diversity Training is designed to help community members become stronger allies for, with, and among our neighbors transitioning from incarceration.

Our Kickoff Event Will Feature:
  • Delicious food from Hop Sing in Town, a catering business founded by one of THRIVE's own members...don't miss the legendary kamakazi wings, served with rice and bok choy!  (Learn more about the chef here:
  • All attendees will have the opportunity to enter to win exciting door prizes, including a gift certificate to Miracle of Science restaurant in Cambridge and artwork created by one of THRIVE's teams!
  • We are seeking new friends and to expand our network of people who know about the great work happening at THRIVE. Please join us to learn more about THRIVE, our successes during the first three years, and our ambitious goals for the next three years!

THRIVE was honored to participate in Hitting the Concrete, hosted by Temple Shir Tikva in Winchester, MA on February 3rd.  THRIVE's own Frederick Clay and Kim Yeasir joined Massachusetts Senator Will Brownsberger and Vin Lorenti, Director of Probation Services for a well attended and much needed community conversation about reentry.  Check out one or both recordings of the panel discussion and a special talk by Fred Clay during their shabbat services posted 2/3/2020 via live stream.

First Congregational Church in Billerica held their annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Brunch. Spreading the mission of THRIVE through the lived experience of core member Reese from both behind the wall and as a returning citizen.

We are excited to announce that we have become a member of Lowell TeleMedia Center.Their mission is to strengthen the City of Lowell as a community media and education center that empowers, connects, and informs all residents, businesses, and organizations in the City. Thanks to this partnership we can all look forward to a new podcast hosted by THRIVE's own Jesse Simoneau.
Rolling Ridge is offering a Day Apart to introduce people to Compassionate Integrity Training with certified CIT facilitator and THRIVE CoSA Volunteer, Judie Bryant. You are invited to join Judie on March 12th to discover how to love yourself so to truly love others.
