DILG to adopt more stringent assessment criteria

 

Local government units (LGUs) will have to work even harder to earn the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award of the DILG this year.

DILG Secretary Ismael 'Mike' D. Sueno said that the Department has recently scaled up the assessment criteria for SGLG with the inclusion of peace and order as one of the core areas.

"Peace and order and development are two sides of the same coin. Hence, the DILG saw it fit to make peace and order as one of the main parameters in choosing the SGLG passers," said Sueno.
 

Makeshift dwellings and domestic wastes persist to be seen in some parts of the 27-kilometer Pasig River which is being rehabilitated by the government in cooperation with private and voluntary sectors.

 

Do your part in saving Pasig River
 

DILG Secretary Ismael ‘Mike’ D. Sueno is urging local government units (LGUs) near the Pasig River to do their part in restoring the river into its once picturesque and glorious state.

The DILG will soon forge a stronger partnership with small farmer cooperatives in the country in implementing infrastructure projects and basic services.

The DILG launched two coffee table books showcasing its water supply and local road projects through creative photography and narrative storytelling.

DILG personnel gears up for water safety

With over 13,000 local projects under its wing, DILG found it necessary to train its personnel on basic water survival and safety skills to prepare for any eventuality as they monitor the implementation of these projects which are sometimes located across rivers and seas.

The local government of Quezon City backs the war on drugs being waged by the Philippine National Police.
 
Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista assured PNP Chief, Director General Ronald M. Dela Rosa of the full support of the QC Government and City Council to the PNP anti-drug campaign 'Project Double Barrel Reloaded' which resumed after a month long suspension since January.
