Message from Beacon Lodge

District 14-m Lions,

Below is a special message from the PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp. As you know, the camp was forced to close for the summer due to COVID-19. Without campers this year, the camp will have significantly lower income, but will still have the expenses involved in maintaining the camp. The PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp is one of the nicest facilities of its kind in the United States and is in need of the support of Lions and Lions Clubs in Pennsylvania more than ever this year. Please consider making a dontion, however small or large, to support one of MD-14's major projects.

District 14-M is also in need of a second Lion to join Lion Linda Myers on the PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp Board of Directors. If you are interested, please contact me at vt1872@comcast,net or call me at 814-445-3810. Thank you for your continuing support for this worthy project.

Special note from PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp 2020

Pa Lions Appreciation Day is scheduled for August 23. Events scheduled for this day include - Camp store, Raffle tickets, Basket Raffle, Zip line, Worship Service, Pin Traders, The Great Duck Race, 11:30 picnic and afternoon activities including Name that Tune, Blind bowling and Corn Hole. The events will be outside with Covid precautions. If you are looking for something to do on a Sunday and a chance to fellowship with other Lions please come to Beacon Lodge. The picnic only cost $5.00 and includes hamburgers, hot dogs and kielbasa and all the fixings. You are encouraged to bring a covered dish to share. Reservations are required and can be made with Denny Hall of District 14-L by August 16, 2020. Make checks payable to Lion Denny Hall – mail to Lion Denny Hall 7513 Panther Lane, Huntington, PA 16652. All monies raised from this event after expenses will be donated to Beacon Lodge.

The golf tournament is scheduled for August 29^th, 2020. To date District 14-M has one (1) Golf Team registered to compete and two (2) clubs sponsoring holes. Not everyone is a golfer but all clubs should be able to sponsor a hole ($100) or a golf cart ($50). Clubs please consider participating in this event. All monies raised after expenses go to the camp.

Last but not least Dan and I still have” Great Duck Race” Tickets available. It has been difficult to distribute tickets due to Covid and many clubs are not meeting. So if you are interested in a ticket for $5.00 please call and leave a message. We will return the call and send you a ticket!!
