World Down Syndrome Day – Monday 21 March

Just 10 more sleeps until World Down Syndrome Day and the theme of this year’s WDSD is “What does inclusion mean?” We'd love to hear what inclusion means for you and your whānau and what you have planned to celebrate our special day. We've heard of a few schools celebrating diversity with Rock Your Socks, and it's not too late to help encourage your school to get involved – just email Rosie adminsupport@adsa.org.nz if you would like an editable poster for your school or workplace. You can also join The Big Connect with NZDSA on that day (see more below) and we know lots of you will be wearing your I Am Me and Downright Perfect tees with pride.  Whatever you get up to please let us know and share on our Facebook page and Facebook Members Group.

Success in School online was a huge.... success!

We had a great turnout for our online Success in School course this week, with 55 participants taking part and 23 schools represented. Whilst we missed seeing people face to face, we know that many from around the country got to take part who otherwise might not have. Huge thanks to our amazing presenters, our fabulous facilitator Kirsten McDonald and the one and only Paula Beguely for pulling it all together. Our next course is 8-9 August and registrations will be open via our website in term two.
Please email Rosie on adminsupport@adsa.org.nz or Paula on clo@adsa.org.nz if you have any questions regarding the events and news highlighted in this update.
