You can help change the way things are done! Here is a time sensitive Call to Action! Several bills filed in the new legislative session are designed to improve the process of siting transmission lines. Two more relate to the application of herbicides near drinking water supply. With your help, we can get these bills co-sponsored before the deadline of this Friday, February 3 at 4:59pm!

Eversource is legally within its rights to spray a cocktail of  toxic chemicals - one of which has been declared a probable carcinogen by the IARC - uncomfortably close to our town’s sole source of drinking water IF their plan is approved? And did you know that affects all 18,000 residents of Sudbury because we all drink from the same water? Sudbury operates under one distribution system and all the water eventually mixes within the water mains. If the Eversource project is approved these pesticides would be sprayed over the water source for all 18,000 of us. You can help put a stop to their plan by donating to the legal fund. A small monthly donation can yield big results. Set up your recurring donation here. Thank you!

Our coalition grows stronger every day. We are now at 70 communities and counting who are in battles with Eversource to save their conservation lands, preserve neighborhoods and historic districts, as well as protect water sources and home values. Take a look at our new coalition web site to see what Eversource is doing to communities just like ours across New England, This coalition helps us shed light on the bigger issue (see The Big Picture) of poorly sited energy projects that do not take into account the real costs to families and communities and the environment. We look to leverage our gathering strength and larger voice to further support legislative initiatives, garner more media attention and ultimately to change the way the process works for the safety and well being of all communities in New England.

More and more residents of Sudbury are choosing to create a recurring donation to help Protect Sudbury maintain a reliable and steady income to fund the legal fees. It is quick and easy to do. Why not donate $27 per month? That’s one dollar per every thousand trees Eversource plans to clear cut. Or, donate $17 per month for the 2017 calendar year? Or something in between! Your donation helps fund our best chance of winning this fight. Thank you for your support.
