It's time to give Sunnyville a tune-up.

While I am focused on the present with the Kickstarter for my first picture book, Hilda & Richie (launching on Wednesday January 6, 2021!), my mind is racing ahead to the future.  This isn't the first Hilda & Richie book I'm doing; as you read this, the script for a second book, Hilda & Richie's Wizard, is being typed.  But that's not what I want to talk to you about.

What I want to tell you about is the planned reprint of Sunnyville Stories.  Sometime next year, a Kickstarter will launch to fund a new edition of the Sunnyville Stories comics in trade paperback format.  Here are the facts you should know.

First, the book will be better quality as I will be using an offset printer rather than the short run printer I used with the original books.

Second, the book will be smaller and more portable.  The size will be 5.5 by 8.5 inches, digest size.  Besides being easier to hold, it will be more economical to print and to sell.

Third, this book will contain the first four issues of Sunnyville Stories.

I'll bet you just paused and are thinking why you should pay for material you already may own.  Now here is where the good stuff is.

Fourth, I am going to go back and redraw some of the panels or even whole pages.  My art in the older stories is very weak compared to my current skill level and it shows.  But there is still more...

Fifth, the book will have ALL NEW MATERIAL!  I have worked out what will be in the new Sunnyville reprint.  There will be a prologue, partly based on my old "Sunnyville Stories Number Zero" minicomic; I'll show Rusty living in the apartment building of his old city, learning that they are moving out of the city and him dealing with that.  There will be a few vignettes in between individual stories.  One of them will be set in-between Sunnyville #1 and #2 where Rusty has to go to his new school; another one will show Rusty shopping.  Yes, you'll be seeing the first new Sunnyville pages with Rusty and friends for the first time since 2017-2018!

Watch for the Sunnyville reprint in the second half of 2021; I'll have more news on that soon.

And mark your calendars for my first picture book on Kickstarter for Jan. 6, 2021 too.
