Last Chance to have a Real Square

Fremantle Society Aerial Images

The Fremantle Society has paid for a series of drone shots of King's Square, and we reproduce three of them here. We hope they will be of use to members in understanding the layout and composition of their town centre. More images will be published later.

These images should give pause for thought as, for the first time in many years, King's Square can be seen as it should be - a real square.

Council paid $50,000 for a report on King's Square, and the chief recommendation was to remove the administration building from the square as has now been done, and to relocate it to another site, to allow King's Square to be a true civic square.

It is not too late to cancel the unnecessary and uncalled for $50 million new building about to be built in Kings Square for the administration. They can go elsewhere much more cheaply and allow Fremantle to have a civic  square.

The images here are strictly copyright and cannot be used or copied.
