figs, cheese, pickles

Sundried figs: Glennis and Ian from IG’s Figs handpick, split and then sun-dry the figs from their orchard as they ripen, packing them into generous punnets of dried brown- and green-skinned figs.  Stock up on them for winter breakfasts at Lancefield.

Farm cheese: Tarago Valley Organics send their certified organic grass-fed milk to Blue Bay Cheese to be made into Farm Cheese.  This mild cheddar style varies slightly in taste across the year and is quite rich at the moment because of the high cream content in the milk. Pick some up at St Kilda Primary or Flemington.

Zucchini pickles: The bread and butter pickles from Farce Charcuterie are tart, sweet, crisp and delicious.  Fabulous with their terrines or as part of a lunch spread, the latest batch have just been put up using the autumn zucchini glut.  Taste them at Abbotsford, Bentleigh, Nagambie and Mount Eliza.
