sticky shiraz, golden spuds and blueberry bushes

Sticky shiraz: Heathcote winemakers Peregrine Ridge produce a fortified shiraz wine when the growing conditions are ideal.  Made in a vintage port style with a bouquet of sweet dark plum and hints of brandy, it’s good with creamy cheese as well as with chocolate.  Pick up a bottle at Abbotsford.
Golden chips: The Jones family has been growing potatoes in Warragul in West Gippsland for four generations. This is the second season they’ve had the popular variety Yukon Gold as part of their range. Ask at the stall for the family recipe for twice-cooked oven-baked chips and wedges – they’re at Abbotsford this weekend.
Blueberry bushes: Fresh berry season is finished, but now is a great time to plant a range of blueberry bushes at home for a backyard supply.  Moondarra Blueberries sell a range of their plants, some suitable for container-growing, at the markets – this weekend they’ll be at Abbotsford.
