Love Sri Lankan food?  A tasty way to help a community

One of our favourite stallholders, Pieter Siebel from Pete's Travelling Pans, invites you to a Sri Lankan buffet lunch to raise funds for the Dambana school which is an indigenous Vedda school in Sri Lanka.

Pete says:
"I have been visiting the Vedda village since 2012 as part of a culinary and cultural tour that I conduct on the island. During this period, I have had conversations with the Chief of the Vedda people and his son and learned of the plight of the Vedda school.
Together with the Rotary clubs of Badulla, Colombo, and our own branch, Rotary E-Club 9790 we are hoping to improve the educational opportunities for these Vedda children.

All the proceeds from this function will be used to provide water, sanitation and educational needs via our Foundation Grant to the Dambana School."

Venue - The Marlhes Restaurant, Assumption College, KILMORE.
Date -    Sunday 16th February 2020. 12pm for 12.30pm start.

More information on the project is available at www.petestravellingpans.com

The Malmsbury Village Farmers’ Market specifically focuses on local producers from the region.  It’s the place to pick up delicious local lamb from Tupping Lamb. Grab a bouquet of freshly picked flowers from Belle Ame flower farm in neighbouring Drummond.  Stock up on a couple of cartons of super- fresh free range eggs from the family at The Good Life Farm Co. based in Kyneton.   There’s plenty to eat at the market when the shopping’s done, and don’t forget to check out the local shops, too.
