raspberries, mozzarella, nashis

Autumn raspberries: The season is just starting for Sunny Creek Organic’s autumn raspberries and should continue through to May.  Brought straight from the farm, they’re in top condition and taste tangy and sweet.  They’ll be at Kingston this Saturday.

Mozzarella-style: Blue Bay Cheese’s goats’ milk mozzarella is a great match with the autumn fruits in abundance right now and is also delicious in a late-season tomato salad.  Pick some up at Kingston, Alphington or Eltham this weekend.

Asian pears: Langdale Orchards grow a variety of nashi called “Yali” to cross-pollinate their pears.  The fruit is small, light green and is delicious freshly-picked, with a crisp texture and sweet flavour. They’re in season now and will be available at Castlemaine.
