Farmers' markets organising bushfire relief and support

This weekend sees the return of most accredited farmers' markets across Victoria.  Unfortunately Wangaratta has had to be cancelled due to the fire risk in the region. Many of the markets that are running (see the list, below) have organised local fundraising or support initiatives to help those affected by bushfires.

Whether you're at your local this weekend or visiting a new one, we hope you find time to feel appreciated by our farmers, producers and market organisers. Thank you for being part of our community supporting farmers.

Win a double pass to the movies

The team at Madman Productions are keen to give five of you a double pass to attend screenings of The Biggest Little Farm that launches in Australia on January 16.  This new US documentary chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland.

Taking inspiration from the work of Thankful4Farmers, to enter please send through a message of gratitude, for a farmer you buy from or the organiser of an accredited farmers' market you shop at.  Choosing five winners will be our pleasure, and we'll make sure all the messages get passed on too.

Entries close next Thursday Jan 16.
