direct from our farmers this week:
falafels, shiraz and golden delicious apples

Fresh falafel: The family behind Tabouli Rasa make delicious herb-packed and vibrant green Israeli-style falafels from Horsham-grown chickpeas.  These vegan and gluten-free bites are available freshly-cooked or frozen to take home from UniMelb, Kingston and Eltham this week.

Vintage shiraz: The 2017 Dunns Paddock Shiraz from Amherst Winery is the result of a particularly good growing season in the Grampians and has light blackcurrant and clove flavours.  Taste it and talk to winemaker and grower Luke at Kingston this Saturday and take a look at the wine club options too.

Delicious apples: This season’s Golden Delicious apples from Pollards Apples and Pears are crisp and slightly tangy at the moment.  Pick up a 2kg bag for $6 at Woodend or Carlton and keep them in the fridge to preserve that flavour and texture.
