Koroneiki olive oil, Victorian chickpea miso

Estate olive oil:  Panton Hill Olive Estate has just released their 2019 harvest Koroneiki olive oil.  The summer’s dry conditions intensified the flavour of the oil, which starts off bitter and refreshing, then smooths out to a buttery peppery finish.  Peter will have casks and bottles of the new release at Hurstbridge, one of their two local markets (the other is Eltham), on Sunday.
Chickpea miso: Koji and Co’s chickpea miso, made from Wimmera-grown chickpeas, tastes savory and complex.  It’s a fast ferment that is lower in salt than many shelf-stable miso pastes.  Try it blended with tahini and lemon juice for a delicious spring vegetable salad dressing – pick some up at Alphington.

Shepparton’s Farmers’ Market showcases the fabulous fresh food, produce and farmers of the Goulburn Valley and surrounds. Catch up with the team from Goulburn Valley Pork for delicious fast- and slow-cook pork cuts.  Grab some fresh fruit from local grower Rosa from Moondooma Fresh.  Then add some award-winning pasta from Pasta Adele and a pack or two of delicious hand-made biscuits from Ninn’s Pantry to the shopping bag.  Held on the grounds of Emerald Bank, there’s live music, the Moira Miniature Rail and a craft market to visit once the food shopping’s done.
