New Financial Supports available through Ontario Emergency Assistance

The Province of Ontario announced yesterday additional financial supports that community members can access through Emergency Assistance under Ontario Works. For details right now, read the Province's official announcement here. Stay tuned for a plain-language summary coming soon, to help disseminate this information clearly to our community!

If you are currently receiving Ontario Works or ODSP, contact your caseworker to determine how you can access these additional supports. If you are not currently receiving Ontario Works or ODSP, you still may be able to access these supports. See the above link for more details.
Essential businesses still open: What you need to know

Ontario has ordered that all non-essential businesses in Toronto and across Ontario must close for 2 weeks, starting tonight (Tuesday March 24th) at 11:59 PM. Both the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario declared a state of emergency in the past few days.

You will still have access to key businesses you need including grocery stores, pharmacies, and more, as well as other key services like power, and Internet/cell phone providers.

Wondering what else is still open? The Storefront has put together a one-pager to answer some of your questions, check out the PDF here or click the image file below!

The province has released a long official list of all the categories of essential businesses that will stay open. Read the province's full list here.
