October: Minnesota Goes to College Month
October is Minnesota Goes to College Month! Why October? October 1 is when the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens. All students considering college in 2022 should complete the FAFSA. Families will complete this form too. Schools use the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for grants, work-study and loans, to create a financial package for each accepted student. Which is why the earlier students apply to their colleges of interest the better. Some of these opportunities are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Many colleges in Minnesota waive the application fees during October so they can get those early decision letters to students. Take advantage!
Tech Guidance counselors and Tech Pathways: College & Career Center are available all month.
Pay attention to schoology for College and Career tips throughout the month
Every Friday counselors are at Tech Pathways to aid seniors with college applications and FAFSA.
Not a senior? Come to Tech Pathways to have your college and career questions answered. Now is the time to get the information you need to expand your options.
Tech Conference nights October 19 and 28, look for links to have live conversations with Guidance Counselors or Tech Pathways about College Admissions, applications, program options, and more.
