Today, my desk is a table at my parents house while drinking  | FMDTY Edition #011
Hello, Friends! Big week, huh? We have a new President-elect. I'm not happy about the results but I am anxiously looking forward to figuring to out how we move forward as a country. I tweeted this the morning after election night: "My goals are still the same today: Love God. Love my family. Make money for them & for others. Love you. Protect the vulnerable." At the end of the day, I'm overly thrilled that this painfully long election season is over.

What's the biggest news of the week, you ask? My podcast launched!

Watch the video I shot behind a grocery store near my parents house introducing my podcast to the world!

I love magic. Who doesn't love magic? David Blaine is one of the best in the world. Seriously. He was on Jimmy Fallon the other evening and did a few cards tricks that were absolutely amazing. Then, he ended by coughing up a...well, you'll just have to watch it. #MindBlown

As I stated above with exclamation points, my podcast released this past Friday. I'm thrilled that Let's Give A Damn is now a reality. I received incredible support from friends and family and even some strangers. If you want to listen to episodes 00 (intro episode with yours truly) & 01 (with Jeremy Cowart), visit the website. Follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to keep up with new episodes and to be the first to hear about the new parts of LGAD that we plan to implement early next year. Also, we have a weekly email that will go out on Friday afternoon containing stories of amazing people giving a damn about others. If you want to receive the emails, sign up here

Last week I shared the newly released Hamilton musical mixtape tracks from Kelly Clarkson & The Roots. Were you blown away? I still cry when I turn on Kelly's track. Guess what? They released two more! Prepare to have your minds blown by Immigrants (We Get The Job Done) by K'NAAN & Satisfied by Sia. Lin Manuel is a genius.

David Bowie, Merle Haggard, Prince, and now Leonard Cohen? It's been a hell of a year for the music world. I loved Cohen and his contribution to the music world. Here's an episode of Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History where he discusses Cohen's genius and—specifically—his song Hallelujah which has been covered thousands of times over the years. A great episode and a perfect week to listen to it.

Great thoughts from Anil Dash on what we can do now that Trump is our President-elect. There are several solid tips for meaningful steps forward.

NOTE: There may be some reading this that are excited about Trump's victory. That's fine and I respect your right to vote for him. This is my newsletter so these are my leanings and opinion. I don't mean to disrespect your points of view. I love you!

Perfect post-election quotes from the ever-helpful and amazing, Brad Montague

"Disagree beautifully. It's good for the health. Find a way to respond to hate without becoming hate yourself."

"There's work to be worked, healing to heal, helping to help, feeling to feel, light to be lit, & doing to do. In this world of darkness, there is thankfully also you."
Last week I asked whether or not I should continue sending these emails on Monday morning or switch to Friday evening. I received a bunch of feedback and most encouraged me to not change anything. So, Monday morning it is!

Lastly, these emails are partly for me but they are in a big way for you! We are 11 weeks in and I hope you're enjoying them. But I need your feedback. What do you enjoy most about these emails? Do I share a solid variety of things to watch, read, listen to, etc? Do you like some things I share more than others? I want these to be helpful to you so please email me with your suggestions, feedback, or if you just want to say hi.

Thank you so much for joining me! If you like it and want to support me, pretty please forward it to a friend and encourage them to subscribe. Love you guys!
