|Hello The Ones!
We hope this note finds you well, wherever in the world you are.
This week we're thinking about design matters, man repelling and fashion. One of the ways we enrich our daily experience is to keep the mind fed. We read recently in an interview with Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, that one of the worst things someone called him was uncurious. Ouch...
Read: We sat down with the team at The Man Repeller to share our style and ethos, it's all here
Follow: It's rare for us to encourage direct following, however Alice Rawsthorn's (Design Editor for the INYT) Instagram feed is unique. Each week she takes a theme, such as the latest 'Design and Death', and every day she shares design stories linked to the topic. Her finds are unexpected, her knowledge, exceptional, and the ideas shared, innovative and inspiring. Find Alice here
A Tip: If you hit snooze more than twice most mornings, your routine time needs to change. Yes, it's really that simple. Not all body clocks run the same and the 9am-5pm system just does't allow individuals to optimise for when they are most productive. Actively sit down and look at your sleep patterns - what is the magic number for you when it comes to sleep, do you prefer early mornings, or late nights. Shift the clock around within reason. Ask your boss if you can answer emails from home for the first hour of the day, start prepping for bed sooner with a good night routine, read fiction before bed to encourage a deeper sleep and find good reasons to get out of bed on on time!
GO: An exhibit on Balenciaga will be opening at the V&A in May and we cannot wait. Regardless if fashion is for you or not, Balenciaga's intense work ethic, dedication to form and function in design and utter precision provide lessons for us all.
That's all for now. Remember, stay curious and take active steps in curating your life consciously.
And please reply to this note and tell us what you're interested in at the moment.
