Hi! Welcome to the third installment in my welcome series. I aim to introduce you to my books and process.

After Princess Avenger and The Lady’s Choice, my stories flowed organically. By that, I mean ideas for characters and stories came to me and I wrote them. Princess in Exile was actually written before The Lady’s Choice, but Penguin didn’t want a series. Go figure.

However, I wanted to write something different after those books and came up with the concept of a mermaid love story. I wondered if I could pull it off. And so, The Lord and the Mermaid was born. It was first published by Pan Macmillan in a two-book deal with The Elf King’s Lady.

I try to pair unlikely heroes and heroines. Who ever heard of a mermaid falling for a crusty sea captain? Or a spoiled noblewoman hooking up with an arrogant general? Fight scenes and battles are just as likely to involve my heroines as my heroes, even if they are supposedly sheltered ladies.

What do I love when I read? Fantasy, of course; romance in the fantasy, historical and contemporary genres, and I love a good murder mystery. Quite a variety there. Series are my absolute favourites. I just can’t stand getting to know characters and then leaving them forever.

As mentioned before, if you’d like to be in my street team and receive new releases in exchange for an honest review, please drop me a line at rowleyb1@optusnet.com.au.

Until next time,
Happy reading
