As the world starts to slowly settle into some semblance of normalcy I immediately start thinking about the future of art shows.

The past year has been a creative challenge. I was so use to having shows in person and talking to my customers and clients face to face, suddenly needing to move my business online was intimidating.



Flashbacks to the before times (feedback 2019)

After spending a year tinkering with the internet I've learned to appreciate being an artist online. Rather than taking my studio out into the world I can bring the world into my studio and offer a different perspective. I can give my viewers a closer look and share more of my process. And while I do miss the energy of art shows it has been nice to create without deadlines for a change.

Even though the past year was easily the most challenging of my career, it did motivate me to finally open an online store, something I had been talking about doing for years before the pandemic. The only things stopping me were the fact that I didn't know what I was doing and pop-up shows were still an option. Since getting over that mental hurdle and creating a print shop I've made my art accessible to more people further away and I've started another project, one which I've also been talking about doing for years before the pandemic.

It's been a rollercoaster of a year and while we're not completely out of the woods yet, the future is looking brighter these days. And I'm looking forward to wine and cheese and seeing art in person once more.
