Oh hey! It's me, that artist who disappears for inconsistent stretches of time.
Yes, I'm still alive and still painting. I haven't written because I wasn't sure what to say... or maybe how to say it. This year has been a strange transitional time and I've been struggling to feel grounded. I had so many plans for this year and so many ideas of what I wanted to do and accomplish. Alas, once again reality has foiled my expectations.

Duplexity. Acrylic on Canvas. 20" x 16". $650
I've experienced changes in both my personal and professional life, which has thrown me back into hermit mode to reevaluate some things. I'm a completely different person today than I was when I first set out to be an artist. I've outgrown so many interests and ideas that it feels like I'm floating around in a creative waiting room until a door opens to reveal the next adventure.

But for now let's talk about what has been going on. I taught my first painting workshop! BUDSSMOKE hosted Art in the Park this summer where I had the opportunity to face my fear of public speaking and teach an acrylic painting class. I was nervous right up until the second I got my Bob Ross on and then quickly realized, "Oh right! I know about this stuff!" The workshop went well and everyone had fun, which is really the whole point of art isn't it?

In other exciting news... CAN*CON is back! CAN*CON is back! CAN*CON is baaack! If you happen to be in Ottawa the weekend of October 14-16 come on by! If not, no worries, I'm planning to start doing more pop up shows again in the near future and maybe some more workshops. In the meantime, if you need me I'll be in the studio painting tiny, weird things that are easily transportable to Ottawaland.
Until next time,
may the creative force be with you.
