***UPCOMING***
SAC December 2016 Meeting

Guest Speaker: Dr. Jonathan Levin, Provost

Where: Lee Hall Room 412
When: Thursday, December 15th, 1:00-3:00pm

Dr. Levin will be discussing UMW's Strategic Enrollment Plan. This plan will drive the admissions department in the direction of recruitment. Enrollment affects all aspects of the University, as student tuition funds numerous programs, both academic and non-academic. Although staff salaries don't depend on tuition, the University does (hence the critical role of enrollment) as state funding decreases.

Jonathan Levin and Kimberley Buster-Williams presented the Strategic Enrollment Plan to the Board of Visitors for comments this month.

Nominate a colleague for being an Excellent Eagle!

If you would like to nominate someone for the Excellent Eagle Employee award, send an email to eenominations@umw.edu with Excellent Eagle Employee in the Subject Line. Be sure to provide the person’s name, department, and work location with the most convenient parking lot, and the reason they should be recognized.
UMW Investment Committee Representative

Recent changes in regulations surrounding the 403b investment/cash match fund essentially requires each University to have an investment committee to monitor the funds in our University portfolio. UMW will be contracting with an investment advisor to assist in this along with the University Investment Committee.

Charles Tate, an SAC member, has volunteered to serve on this committee. If you have any questions or suggestions for Charles to address with the committee, you can submit them here and he will take them to the committee.

Thank you, Charles, for your commitment to the University and for volunteering your services!
Leadership Council Updates

The Engagement Assessment Committee presented Engagement Assessment Survey findings to the Leadership Council in October. This information was well received and taken seriously.

The Leadership Council and Leadership UMW  2016 (LUMW) held a joint extended action planning meeting, which resulted in newly instituted protocol for all faculty and staff to receive the SAC newsletter and the Provost newsletter in an effort to improve community communication.

The Engagement Assessment Committee along with LUMW 2016 is consolidating its findings and discussion topics for President Paino’s consideration. Our President will offer an update and action steps at the January 2017 Community Forum.
