SAC February 2017 Meeting

Guest Speaker: Dr. Bill Crawley, Director of Great Lives & Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History

Dr. Crawley spoke at the SAC meeting about the Great Lives program. The program started in the 1970s as a biographical class within the History department and, from there, grew into what it is today, an event for the community. Throughout the years the Great Lives program has remained free to the public and bring large crowds to each lecture. The success of this lecture series is due, in part, to support from donors and local corporations who want to make sure the series keeps running. Lectures that have already happened this spring include Woodrow Wilson, Frank Sinatra, Hamilton and Burr, Nat Turner, John Wayne, Ty Cobb, Douglas MacArthur, and Harriet Tubman. There are still many great biographical lectures to come including George Custer, George Lucas, Mark Twain, and others. For a full list of the upcoming lectures, click

Thank you to all of our speakers for taking the time to talk with the SAC and help us serve the community the best we can!
