Upcoming workshops and events
The Reproducibilty Working Group will meet Monday, Dec. 5 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the WRF Data Science Studio.

The postdocs and graduate students' lunch will be Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 12 p.m. in the WRF Data Science Studio.

Also on Tuesday, the Python in Geosciences group will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Studio.

The Community Seminar will round out the day, Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Studio. This week features Jie Liu on 'Tumor heterogeneity analysis via an extensible modeling system.'

The Software Working Group will meet in the Studio on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 3 to 4 p.m.
In the news
Four UW instructors, including three eScience Institute fellows, have co-authored the new book Dynamic Mode Decomposition: Data-Driven Modeling of Complex Systems.
A team including two eScience fellows has developed MusicNet, a “classical music dataset … which enables machine learning algorithms to learn the features of classical music from scratch.”
