Endowed professorship
Rajesh Rao, senior data science fellow (second from right), has been named the Cherng Jia and Elizabeth Yun Hwang Endowed Professor for his "groundbreaking work on brain-computer interfaces".
Recent happenings

Yale Environment 360 quoted Curtis Deutsch, eScience affiliate, in their article "Feeling the heat: How fish are migrating from warming waters".

Michael Beyeler, postdoctoral fellow, has co-authored two new pre-prints published in BioRxiv: "pulse2percept: A Python-based simulation framework for bionic vision" (with Ariel Rokem, data science fellow) and "Sparse coding and dimensionality reduction in cortex".
Institute of Technology
Ka Yee Yeung, eScience affiliate, and her team at UW-Tacoma have a new pre-print in BioRxiv titled "Reproducible bioconductor workflows using browser-based interactive notebooks and containers".
PyData 2017
Register now for PyData Seattle 2017, a forum hosted by Microsoft for the international community of users and developers of data analysis tools to share ideas and learn from each other.
Google Cloud
RSVP for the Google Cloud Platform Scientific Public Datasets Workshop happening June 21, to learn about what Google can offer the scientific community, and offer guidance on issues.
