Preview of 2020 Retailer Programs
With Winter BTS behind us and spring right around the corner, we wanted to preview everyone on a couple of programs we'll be running in 2020 to help drive foot-traffic and sales for our brick-and-mortar retail partners.
Spring | Torrit Grey Buy-Get Promotion

This year's batches of Torrit Grey have already been made. And they look great.

All the pigment captured by our air filtration system over the 12 months has been recycled into paint, rather than being put into a landfill. And as always, this paint will be shared with our community of painters. In partnership with you. And free with Gamblin purchases of $30 or more.

Like last year, Torrit Grey will be an in-store promotion only. Torrit Grey is the color that can't be bought. It's special. For artists, the Torrit Grey story and our promise to be kind to the planet we share matter as much as the paint. It's important to us that artists receive both the paint and the story in person, from their local brick-and-mortar art supply store.

You'll see a communication from us very soon with all the details. Please watch for that and let us know if you'd like to participate.

In mid-March we'll begin shipping Torrit Grey out in 25-packs of 37ml tubes. We suggest retailer partners kick-off their Torrit Grey promotion on April 1 (which is the start of our Spring Sale period) and run it through May 30, while supplies last.
Fall BTS | Solvent-Free Fluid Buy-Get Promotion

For Fall BTS, we will run a buy-get promotion around our Solvent-Free Fluid medium.

Retailers that opt-in will receive a kit that includes 25 Solvent-Free Fluid mediums in a 2oz size along with a rack sign for your Gamblin display. Artists that spend $30 or more on Gamblin materials will be eligible to receive the free Solvent-Free Fluid medium.

Solvent-Free oil painting continues to trend. We see this program as a great way to engage with painters around something relevant to them and to offer them something meaningful for shopping with you.

You'll see communications from us this summer regarding this program. We'll be shipping kits out in July so you can run this promotion in August and September, in parallel with our Fall promotional period.

We'll miss seeing you at Art Materials World this year

We continue to support the NAMTA association through our membership and dues, which are a significant investment for us and for all manufacturer members. This year, however, we will not exhibit at Art Materials World.

Last year we looked hard at all our brand, sales, and marketing spending. And we looked particularly hard at the return to our retail partners from our investments and programs. If our programs aren't working for you, then they're not working for us.

We feel we can do more for you by re-directing our booth and show investment into new products and programs that inspire artists, introduce them to new materials and techniques, and get them into your stores. We've also felt that, most years, we've already figured out what we're going to do together during the year by the time the show rolls around.

Is your store on our Store Locator?

We work hard to direct artists to our brick-and-mortar retail partners. As part of that, we built a Store Locator, feature it prominently on our website, and spend a lot of time keeping it current. It gets a ton of traffic - about 3,800 visitors per month. Please check it out and email with any corrections to your store information.

What more could we do together this year?

We know a lot of you are planning your events and other activities for 2020. And we've certainly heard from many of you already (thank you!).  If you haven't yet reached-out to us, please do. The more time we have, the better we can support your efforts.

Also, if you haven't already, please check-out our 2020 Catalog. Among other things, there's the background story on our new products , more information on Torrit Grey, and a look into the people at Gamblin and our brand promise.

The catalog is a terrific salestool in the aisle and a great resource for your store staffs. We suggest retailers place a copy of our catalog at your Gamblin display and in your employee break-room. If you'd like hard-copies of the catalog mailed to you, please email to request one today.

As always, we look forward to hearing from you. And we'll certainly be in touch with more program information and more tools to support your sales and marketing efforts.
