We began a two-week pause in manufacturing on March 14. Since then, our focus has been on the well-being of our team and their families. We've also worked hard to figure out, and to make sure, that we can operate safely and sustainably.
During this time, our manufacturing team has been on a fully-paid Health Leave. Our office team has been working from home.
We will re-start our manufacturing operation on Monday, March 30. Colormaking is what we do.
Our first priority is to fill open orders. Oil painters need their Gamblin. We want to keep painters painting and your business open for business.
We'll spare you all the detail about safety measures taken in response to the coronavirus, you've gotten those emails all week. Basically, we've gone to great lengths to keep people working and to keep people paid. Near-term, Manufacturing will focus on essential products.
Any shortage on any items, if at all, will take weeks to hit and will be minor - mediums sets, 16oz and 32oz sizes of mediums, and other slower-turning items. We will keep you stocked on color and other Gamblin staples, such as Gamsol and Gamvar.
We have been inspired by all you've done to support your communities of artists with curbside pick-up, delivery, online, and other options to support their work. Like many of you, we are a small, family-owned company. We are doing our best to live our promise to you, the team here, and the planet we all share.
And like you, we are working to survive what we are all going through and to thrive once we overcome the coronavirus and the tough economy it brings with it. We got through the Great Recession together. We will get through this. We look forward to working with you along the way and to supporting you in every way we can.
