Dear <<First Name>>,
We hope you are well, and hopefully have some nice things planned now it is possible to travel around, but do take care.

APEC staff continue to work from home but the office will be opening again from September and our events hopefully will resume in the next few months.

Fundraising has been high on our agenda to enable us to carry on our charitable objectives after so many cancelled events have taken their toll financially.

Take a look how you can support us, perhaps join our weekly flutter for just £1?

Are you feeling lucky?

Would you like to help design a study looking at pregnancy outcomes in women with pregnancy hypertension from BAME backgrounds?
At King’s College London, we are designing a study to look at pregnancy outcomes in women with pregnancy hypertension from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds. We are looking for women with experience of high blood pressure in pregnancy, especially women from BAME backgrounds. We would like to work in partnership with you to design and carry out this study and then publicise the results.

If you would like to be involved or would like some further information, please contact the study investigator Dr Fran Conti-Ramsden by email on:

Research priorities for pregnancy hypertension: a UK priority setting partnership with the James Lind Alliance has now been published online by BMJ Open.

APEC CEO Marcus Green and colleagues Alison Ho and Louise Webster are among the co-authors.

This is a really excellent piece of work and all involved should be very proud.

Driving after eclampsia

Zoe Barber contacted APEC when her driver’s licence was suspended for six months after she suffered an eclamptic seizure following the birth of her twins.

This ban on driving was effective immediately, she wasn’t able to drive. As a mother of new twins, this was a devastating loss of independence.

Zoe has been supported by APEC in the long process to regain her licence.

Virgin have now announced there will be a further update on August 7th so we have everything crossed. Once again, thanks to all involved for your unending generosity, support and patience.
