துஷ்பிரயோகத்தின் தாக்கம்

ANBU had the pleasure of interviewing with Vannathamil Radio this month to discuss ANBU and the purpose of it's existence. We talk about the passion behind ANBU and the lifelong impact of childhood sexual abuse.

Stay tuned for the link coming soon...
For this month, we translated our video loaded with psycho-educational info into Tamil. Let us know what you think?!
Just as you heard in our video, one of the most common aftermaths of childhood sexual abuse is abusive relationships into adulthood. Birth to six years of age is a period of significant and rapid brain development. Developing with the reality of childhood sexual abuse impacts adult relationships with ourselves and others with issues such as boundaries and sexuality. Violations of boundaries, relationships, and sexuality is NOT normal.

Our mission with ANBU is to provide healing and empowerment through holistic support, resources, and advocacy on behalf of Tamil people who have been impacted by childhood sexual abuse. We work with your presence. If you desire to speak about your past because you believe it is what you need then we will provide that space but our focus is really on your present. Unfortunately a realistic present for most survivors of childhood sexual abuse is intimate partner violence.

This is why ANBU has partnered with OCASI to raise awareness on intimate partner violence. We will be sharing resources and tools to build your capacity and understanding of intimate partner violence. Let’s navigate ways we can support one another and bridge the gap between generations so that we can openly talk, connect and heal.

Bring an Aunty, and join us for a day of celebrating the resilience and courage of the women in our community.

ANBU UK updates!!!

Remarkable reflections from a participant after her first ANBU social gathering.

a don't know what to expect day
a day in may

the day i made contact with fireflies
who share the same horrific history

in caminos, we all lit up as fireflies
where Harry found his home

i don't feel alone

Now, I became a firefly
And I now know what ANBU is to me.
a day, changed a life

ANBU had the opportunity to have a stall and speak here alongside other great organizations like Street Children project and a cookbook called Homemade. The day ended with attendees creating prayer flags.
