Christmas Eve Services: We will have two Christmas Eve services: a family-friendly service of Lessons & Carols at 3pm and an 11pm Lessons & Carols service with the Lord’s Supper. Both services will take place in the sanctuary at Grace Covenant. Childcare is not provided during these services.
Christmas Day: We WILL have worship at 4pm on Sunday. Due to a limited number of available volunteers, nursery and Children's Worship will not be provided. However, we do encourage you (and your families!) to join us!
Coming Up Soon
Women's Retreat: Our Women’s Retreat will be Saturday, January 28th through Sunday, January 29th at Roslyn Retreat Center. Patricia Higgins Clarke–a native Richmonder–will serve as our speaker. Patricia has spent years leading and teaching women and has a passion for seeing women come to faith in Christ and walk with Him through all of life’s stages. Registration is $130. Visit citychurchrva.com/2017womensretreat for more details.
End-of-Year Giving: Please note that all end-of-year contribution checks need to be in-hand or postmarked by December 31st to go towards 2016 deductions. Checks with a postmark of December 31st (or before) will be counted as 2016 giving if they are received no later than January 9th, 2017. Online gifts will still need to be made by December 31st (some credit cards take 3-5 business to process, so please take that into consideration).
City Church Basics: Our next session of City Church Basics will take place on Sunday, January 15th (5:30pm-8pm, dinner included) and Wednesday, January 18th (7pp-9:30pm) at the City Church offices. City Church Basics explains who we are as a church and what it means to be a member. It is a necessary step towards formally joining the church, but membership is not required. If you’re interested in taking part in this next session, RSVP to Val Catrow (firstname.lastname@example.org). Contact Erik (email@example.com) with questions.
Serving Our Community
Mercy Fund on Sunday: In addition to our regular offering, we will take up a special Mercy Fund offering during Sunday’s service, as we always do on the last Sunday of the month. Whatever is given to the Mercy Fund will be kept separate from our general budget and will be used to aid those in our congregation, and in our community, who have emergency needs. Please prayerfully consider what you might give.
Volunteering in 2017: Looking to get more connected at City Church in 2017? Volunteering during our worship services is a wonderful way to both serve the church and get to know new people. Over the next few weeks our Ministry Team Leaders will begin putting together our volunteer rotation for February-May of 2017. In an effort to help them streamline this process a bit, we wanted to give you the opportunity to go ahead and sign up for the team(s) you'd like to join. Volunteer opportunities are: nursery, children's worship, music, sound board, welcome team, facilities team, prayer team, and our communion bread team. Please use this link to sign up! Once you've signed up, we will pass your information along to the appropriate team leader., and he/she will be in touch!
