Alas, the New Year is imminent. Time to look back at all the good, bad, and rather shocking happenings during your annual orbit around the Sun.

One thing from this year that stuck with me personally was Mike Brown's latest revelation: the math checks out, there is Evidence for a Distant Giant Planet in the Solar System. There goes my chances for a planetary comeback.

"Arch-Nemesis" (jk) Mike Brown published an article in the Astronomical Journal back in February with his research about this elusive Planet Nine, and it turns out, many of you Earthlings were excited about this discovery.

His journal article was the #4 most-discussed journal article of 2016! Behind a few on healthcare reform and the first-ever gravitational wave sound bite.

Honestly, I don't know whether to be excited about the possibility of a new spatial neighbor, or afraid that once you lay eyes on this celestial giant, I will soon be forgotten. Hoping it's not the latter.

Cheers to a new orbit. I wonder what else you'll find on the next trip 'round.
With love
from my icy heart
