This committee coordinates the Day with the Set Decorator event, working with schools, student chapters and members. If you've never attended or participated in one of these events, you are missing out. Just ask the members that have! These students are eager to learn. Universal Studios was the setting for fall edition of Day With the Set Decorator.
Students experienced some real movie magic at the studio, where they learned first hand how Set Decorators transform the famous New York Street and back lot into everything from a war torn village to a heavenly hamlet. They also enjoyed an insider sneak peek of the sets for the much-anticipated WILL & GRACE.

Hurricane Irma sure packed a punch! After TV and film productions were shut down in preparation of the oncoming storm, THE BUZZ was happy to hear, and to report, that our members are safe. The power and phones were restored and everyone is back to work!

Deadline’s The Contenders London Event
The first ever Contenders London event presented by Deadline took place on Friday October 6th, 2017 at BAFTA. It was an all-day event where attendees heard the back stories of how this years award contenders got made, from those who made them, including Set Decorator Katie Spencer SDSA for Walt Disney Studios’ Beauty and the Beast. Costume Designer Jacqueline Durran and Production Designer Sarah Greenwood rounded out this panel.
