Prayer Partners' Newsletter February 2018

Dear friends,
I hope this year has started well for you and that you managed to avoid 'Aussie flu' (and the many variants of it). Kath was one of those suffering from a nasty virus but is slowly recovering and is back at work. Please do get in touch if you'd like any more information about the items mentioned in the update below. Thank you for your continuing prayer support

Filling the Gap
Initiative continues to grow across the Diocese

There are currently twelve churches taking part in Filling the Gap with another two on the way. We have written guidelines on how to set up holiday food and activities and you can find these on our website https://www.tltogether.org.uk/holiday-gap. We are planning a celebration event for Monday 25th June and will send out more information about that soon.

Please pray for the many staff and volunteers who work hard to support their local community in this way. We would also appreciate your prayers as we plan our event, that it would be a fun, encouraging and inspiring occasion. Lastly please pray for the families across the Diocese who are struggling financially.

St. James church in Millbrook has been working through KYCKYN and has one session left before completing the course.
Please pray for this church as they use their learning to think about what they should do next, that God would guide them as they make decisions and plan for the future.
Also please pray for Kath and Wendy as they seek to update and refine the course contents
We are delighted to be partnering with The Alzheimer's Society in running a conference for faith groups in Tameside.  Focus on Faith and Dementia may be the first of this type of conference, encouraging faith groups to share their experience and good practice as well as learning more about how to make our communities more dementia friendly. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/focus-on-faith-dementia-tickets-42716875324
Please pray that this event will be well attended and that our churches can grow in confidence in relating to those living with dementia.
Once again, please accept our grateful thanks for your prayers and support. Please feel free to share this newsletter with friends, neighbours, colleagues and churches.
