Sing Praises

Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy ...
Psalm 5:11

One strategy for keeping my mind in a place of peace and rest rather than the dark place it wanted to run to was to keep praise music playing almost all day long. Here is a list of some of my favorites that kept truth and joy in the forefront of my mind and allowed me to focus on God’s goodness (in no particular order):

Knees to the Earth, Christy Nockels
Not for a Moment, Meredith Andrews
10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) Matt Redman
Touch the Sky (Hillsong)
Oceans (Hillsong)
Revelation Song (Phillips, Craig, & Dean)
I Am Not Alone (Kari Jobe)
Blessings (Laura Story)
Give Me Faith (Elevation Worship)
Overcomer (Mandisa)

If you find yourself in a dark place today, make a playlist of some of your favorite praise and worship songs. I promise you singing praises to the Father will be good medicine for your soul.

Father God we praise Your name, even in the hard times. Thank you for rocks and trees, skies and seas, thank you for being the God of wonder beyond all galaxies, and the anchor that firmly holds against the wildest, stormy gales. Thank you for loving me, King Jesus. You are greatly to be praised. Amen.
