The Lullabye Factory NewsLetter - #5

Hi There!

It's been a couple of crazy months! In between building the control room, getting a new Master Recorder and preparing everything for the launch of the Mixtape a lot of things happened! Anyways: for all y'all Analog Enthusiasts, here it is:

The 5th The Lullabye Factory Newsletter shall send out by means of keeping Analog Minded people updated.

This Edition shall cover the Announcement of the Showcases, Instores and Screening of the Mixtape Project, The Very First Product of our Completely Analog Record Label which will be launched early 2017 and various other Analog News from The Lullabye Factory:  The New Control Room, the Upcoming Photo Exposition and News from our Booking Agency..

About The Lullabye Factory

The Lullabye Factory is a Fully Analog Recording Studio, Art Gallery & Booking Agency with a Concert Promotion division located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The Lullabye Factory's philosophy is creating soulful top-notch analog recordings in an atmosphere where artists feel right at home. Our workflow is one that is direct and engaging, our focus being on creating musical revelation. We use Analog Equipment, from the recording console to the classic effects like spring reverb and tape delay. This makes our sound true and revealing. We are located next to the center of Amsterdam and the Westerpark area. We’ve got a bar and chill-area surrounded with different pieces of art, changing every once in a while as to always be inspired by different concepts of creation.

The new and 1000% improved control room is ready. Not only can we climatise the room and do we have a more space for our analog gear, we now also have a symmetrical sound image. In other words we can guarantee even more analog quality, comfort and performance.

The Epicentre of The Lullabye Factory is a D&R Orion analog studio console.

Paired with a AMPEX MM1000 16 - track tape recorder
, the first professional 16 track tape recorder to be mass produced was introduced in 1969.

The 16-track MM-1000 quickly became legendary for its tremendous flexibility, reliability and outstanding sound quality. This brought about the "golden age" of large format analog multitrack recorders which would last into the mid 1990s. The AMPEX MM1000, nicknamed "The Beast", is breathing new life onto Tape and makes for a beautiful Heart in the studio!

A Binson Echorec, a truly analog echo machine, using a specially designed steel/alloy disc or drum, which carries a durable flat metal magnetic band. Record and playback heads are arranged around the edge of the drum. First introduced in the 1950s, it's no longer being manufactured, and rarely seen used.

And a brand new 1/4 inch 2 track DDR Master Recorder: VEB T2221.

This is the REEL deal.

Meet Frankie 'The Fixer' Hartog. Running an analog studio properly requires the utmost of technical skill. Servicing analog equipment and finetuning its capabilities ensures the impeccable sound quality these analog machines were once known for! Frankie 'The Fixer' fully restored our DDR Master Recorder, the VEB T2221 and makes sure everything in the studio is aligned properly. He is also a true Binson fanatic, a state of mind we inherited from his passion for these epic effect machines. All of the Binsons in the studio were serviced by Frankie and came with life-time Frankie Guarantee! We wouldn't have it any other way. All of us together we star in the rom-com "An Analog Love-Affair".

Analog For REEL

Indeed The Lullabye Factory is fully analog. Not only the phoneline, tape-recorder or the console, but also our illustrations, photo's and video footage are made the analog way. It won't take long before we do not tolerate any non-analog devices in the studio anymore and this newsletter will be brought to you by the postman..We might sound crazy, but just wait...
