The Crowdfunding for The Lullabye Factory Analog Mixtape vol. One is LIVE at Voordekunst!
The Lullabye Factory Analog Mixtape vol. One

"Art only begins where imitation ends." - Oscar Wilde

The Lullabye Factory Analog Mixtape vol. One is an Interdisciplinary Project, where an analog photographer, illustrator, video artist and sound experts work together to realise this project.

The Lullabye Factory Analog Mixtape vol. One is thé project in which 10 bands have one song produced the analog way. The bands participating in The Lullabye Factory Mixtape Project are:  DAKOTA | The Tiger Lovemachine | Sailing to Suez | Money & the Man | JAGD | Pure Muna | Tumbling Dice | The Hazzah | Two Shakes of a Lamb's Tail | DJ Hagy

The entire production is in the analogue domain. Even the album cover is crafted manually. Photos are developed and printed in the dark room, and the illustrations are taken care of by the house illustrator and screenpressed on the cover.
The Crowdfunding

Our ultimate goal is to further develop and transfer analog methods to future generations. With the crowdfunding we can fund the last operation of this analog journey: creating the album cover! The crowdfunding also puts this interdisciplinary project on the map and makes it accessible to the public, which we want to engage in the creative process of the creative efforts surrounding the project.

About The Lullabye Factory

The Lullabye Factory is a Fully Analog Recording Studio, Art Gallery & Booking Agency with a Concert Promotion division located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The Lullabye Factory's philosophy is creating soulful top-notch analog recordings in an atmosphere where artists feel right at home. Our workflow is one that is direct and engaging, our focus being on creating musical revelation. We use Analog Equipment, from the recording console to the classic effects like spring reverb and tape delay. This makes our sound true and revealing. We are located next to the center of Amsterdam and the Westerpark area. We’ve got a bar and chill-area surrounded with different pieces of art, changing every once in a while as to always be inspired by different concepts of creation.

The new and 1000% improved control room is ready. Not only can we climatise the room and do we have a more space for our analog gear, we now also have a symmetrical sound image. In other words we can guarantee even more analog quality, comfort and performance.

The Epicentre of The Lullabye Factory is a D&R Orion analog studio console.

Paired with a AMPEX MM1000 16 - track tape recorder
, the first professional 16 track tape recorder to be mass produced was introduced in 1969.

The 16-track MM-1000 quickly became legendary for its tremendous flexibility, reliability and outstanding sound quality. This brought about the "golden age" of large format analog multitrack recorders which would last into the mid 1990s. The AMPEX MM1000, nicknamed "The Beast", is breathing new life onto Tape and makes for a beautiful Heart in the studio!

A Binson Echorec, a truly analog echo machine, using a specially designed steel/alloy disc or drum, which carries a durable flat metal magnetic band. Record and playback heads are arranged around the edge of the drum. First introduced in the 1950s, it's no longer being manufactured, and rarely seen used.

And a brand new 1/4 inch 2 track DDR Master Recorder: VEB T2221.

This is the REEL deal.

And this week we had a very special guest in the studio signed at Jagjaguwar for 2Metersessies. Stay tuned. provides Recording the Masters studiotapes to 100% analoge recordingstudio the Lullabye Factory

"In our first conversations, we soon found that we had the same vision of analogue sound and found that music could be recorded in purest form", according to Thomas Baur.

Previously Recording The Masters already let us know that they recognised our investment in analog recording and that we share the values that the brand RTM wants to convey. Especially our set of rare and vintage machines showed them that we are very invested, determined and undoubtedly: passionate.

We are very pleased with this cooperation with MFB, the Dutch dealer of Recording the Masters studiotapes.

The Lullabye Sessions is an initiative of The Lullabye Factory where 3 acts are invited to play a live show (max 30 minutes; the size of one tape) at The Lullabye Factory studio all of which will be recorded the Analog way onto tape. The recordings of the sessions will be played back right after the live sets are finished in a listen-back session at the studio. The purpose of the Lullabye Sessions is to bring Artists together and getting them to connect to other musicians as a way of broadening their creative horizon. Also the bringing together of like minded artistic souls empowers the underground scene philosophy which The Lullabye Factory is dedicated to nurture and maintain.

 Next sessions are :
15th of July (one spot available)
 12th of August
21th of October

If you wish to participate in The Lullabye Sessions, please contact for more information. We use new 2 inch tape, so be sure to be studio ready!!
